Residents were being evacuated Friday nighttime aft a six-alarm occurrence erupted successful a chemic works adjacent to downtown Passaic, New Jersey.

The occurrence was spreading to aggregate buildings astatine the Qualco chemic plant, and the entire operation was expected to beryllium destroyed, Passaic Mayor Hector Lora told NewJersey.com. The occurrence was besides spreading to adjacent Majestic Industries.
